Access Support

We act as Access Support workers for artists in Leicester, UK applying to Arts Council England, helping to remove barriers in the application process.

We support artists in understanding the funding criteria, navigating the Grantium portal, and clearly communicating their ideas - whether through written applications, video, or other formats that suit their needs.

We also assist with requesting Access Support funding from Arts Council England, which can cover the cost of our support and doesn’t affect the outcome of the main grant.

Our role is to make the process more accessible, offering clear, practical guidance and working flexibly to meet each artist’s individual needs.

Things we can help with:

Access Support helps artists who face barriers (due to disability, neurodivergence, mental health, etc.) with the process of applying to ACE funding.

This support can cover:

  • Help understanding the application process

  • Filling out forms

  • Communicating ideas clearly

  • Act as a scribe, communicator, or guide

  • Help with online systems (like Grantium)

  • Assist with written responses or video/audio alternatives

  • A plain English guide to the process

  • Step-by-step checklists

  • A quiet space or tech support if needed

Applying for access support is separate to your ACE application and does not effect the outcome.
