About the event

We’re working with Dr Sean Clark of Interact Digital Arts and the Computer Arts Archive to help young people unleash hordes of artistic robots in the LCB Depot, all brought to life through the power of internet programming!

This two-day Arts Award Discover workshop will take inspiration from pioneering computer artist Harold Cohen and will explore how robots can be used to create drawings.

This short course will blend technical skill development with artistic exploration, focusing on coding, robotics, and digital arts. It is designed for young people aged 8–13 and follows the Arts Award Discover framework, offering a unique combination of practical learning and creative expression.

Participants will engage in activities that encourage both individual creativity and collaboration, culminating in the creation of a shared digital artwork, exhibited as part of the COMPUTALA exhibition at LCB Depot!

On the first day of the course, attendees will discover more about the…
